    The term "Wegovy tablet" appears often in searches, but that does not mean there is an approved tablet product on the market. As of 3 April 2026, Wegovy in the EU is still an injectable treatment. This article explains what oral semaglutide research shows and why trial data should not be confused with an available product in Sweden.

    Is Wegovy available as a tablet today?

    No. Wegovy is still an injectable medicine, and searches for a tablet version usually refer to research interest rather than an approved Swedish product.

    What do the OASIS trials suggest?

    The OASIS trials showed promising group-level weight-loss results with high-dose oral semaglutide, which is why the topic continues to attract attention.

    How is this different from Rybelsus?

    Rybelsus is oral semaglutide for type 2 diabetes, not an approved obesity-tablet equivalent to Wegovy, and dose as well as indication are different.

    What would need to happen next?

    Regulatory approval, product information, pricing and supply all need to be in place before a tablet can be treated as a real treatment option in Sweden.
